The objective of the article is to facilitate the qualitative analysis of O-alkyl-N,N-dialkylphosphoroamidocyanidates (tabun derivatives) in unknown samples using GC/MS. The method is based upon their typical mass fragments and corresponding fragmentations. The article summarizes the results of more than 20-years of research of measurements and evaluating of electron ionization mass spectra of O-alkyl-N,N-dialkylphosphoroamidocyanidates. Out of the large amount of data obtained this way, 100 standard mass spectra forming four homological sets of tabun derivatives were selected. Based on the comparison in separate sets and using the general rules of the formation of the electron ionization mass spectra, the fragmentation schemes of separate sets of tabun derivatives were developed. In addition to that, the overview of the typical mass fragmentations for each of the four homological sets of O-alkyl-N,N-dialkylphosphoroamidocyanidates is presented.
